This is the best day of my life.
- wgx 13y agoYou did say you'd have more time on your hands.
- stephenhuey 13y agoAaaaaagh!!!!!! Only made it past the 2nd pipe after 5 minutes so I'm going back to Threes! http://asherv.com/threes/ http://asherv.com/threes/
- whatshisface 13y agoYou linked to a very interesting looking game, but I can't help but wonder, did you make it?
- ijk 13y agoAnswer appears to be no, unless "stephenhuey" is secretly Asher Vollmer, Greg Wohlmend, or Jimmy Hinson [1], which is unlikely. Not really surprising, though: there's a very good reason why Threes is currently the top paid app on iOS. [1] http://asherv.com/threes/presskit/ http://asherv.com/threes/presskit/
- stephenhuey 13y agoSorry I missed this due to unplugging for some snowboarding in Crested Butte. No, I didn't make Threes, but my friends and I have recently begun playing it.
- vittore 13y agoWhy there is no android version
- esMazer 13y agowondering exactly the same thing!
- Bud 13y agoFor the same reason that every other app developer out there works on iOS versions first: you make more money that way. iOS customers spend more money and buy more apps.
- nacs 13y agoAlso, easier to develop for iOS as you don't have to target an infinite amount of hardware and screen resolution configurations.
- corresation 13y agoMaybe the developers have a Macbook and know iOS? And if we're going to talk metrics, at the rate that Google Play spending has been exploding, it will be passing the iOS ecosystem sometime very shortly. By no stretch am I saying that anyone should target Android instead of iOS, but right now if one hits one or the other it is primarily driven by skillsets and not some objective evaluation. Ideally toolsets and skills cross platforms where possible, and it is leaving money on the table to ignore either.
- Bud 13y agoMaybe the developers assessed the actual state of the market and made the decision they thought would garner higher profits? Just a thought. A much more likely thought than speculating that serious developers are randomly guided towards what platform to code for by what computer they happen to have bought last. Once Google Play actually passes iOS, feel free to make that point. Not before. As a recent employee of various startups and established companies in the mobile space, I can tell that you that the only pattern I've witnessed here is: a) decide what to develop for based on the market b) hire people that can develop for that platform Not the other way round.

- Camillo 13y agoIt bothers me that the pocket at the bottom of the page is too small to fit the phone.
- alanfalcon 13y agoIt fits great on an iPhone.
- Gracana 13y agoIt renders fine (the phone fits in the pocket comfortably) for me in Firefox and Safari, even if I make the window really skinny.
- prezjordan 13y agoGreat game, but I'm noticing patterns in my sleep. Might need to stop playing it right before bed...
- kookiekrak 13y agocheck out reverse flappy birds, its pretty hilarious http://kookiekrak.itch.io/flappy-pipes http://kookiekrak.itch.io/flappy-pipes p.s. i put it on facebook too! (unity + fb integration is amazing) https://apps.facebook.com/flappypipes https://apps.facebook.com/flappypipes
- zamalek 13y agoNow all the flappymmo author needs to do is have players controlling the pipes and have players controlling the birds.
- jonalmeida 13y agoFYI: Requires Unity Web Player. googles "Unity Web Player" linux ... cries P.S: I'm on Chrome and UWP is supposed to work on it, but it doesn't.
- fnordfnordfnord 13y agoWhat's up with Unity? The Linux desktop publishing preview is a work-in-progress. It's been that way for a while. http://unity3d.com/unity/multiplatform/desktop http://unity3d.com/unity/multiplatform/desktop
- nacs 13y agoThat page is referring to the native Linux binaries that Unity can export (which work great and has been available for a while). It's also quite stable so not sure why they're still calling it a preview. The parent post is referring to the Unity web plugin for Linux which AFAIK does not exist at all (only Windows and Mac support for the browser plugin).
- johnward 13y agoI'm on chrome on mac and it doesn't work. I'm not installing plugins to play games.
