I definitely felt like my grade school education did me a disservice in the math department. I liken it to learning grammar for 12 years without ever writing an essay. This is why I think programming should be taught starting in elementary school. It gives you an application for the math you need to learn. I never cared about learning algebra, calculus, or trigonometry until I started programming. Now I wish I had paid attention and now I am going back and self educating on the subjects in order to empower my programming.
