Just that if we had to use the term, the least bastardized way of doing it would be to say that it was the relationship being modified, not his addiction. She literally did nothing about his addiction. I suppose you could say she "hacked" (again, disgusting choice of words) her PERCEPTION of his addiction... either way, it's a poor choice of words
