I can't possibly agree with this premise more strongly. Having the right co-founder chemistry is as critical (if not more critical?) than having the right chemistry in your personal relationships (there's a reason it's called FounderDating ;) ) I haven't been around that long, but I'd say a majority of business failures I've learned about (outside the Silicon Valley bubble) happened because of disputes and frustrations between partners. I know a lot of people, and there are probably no more than 3 that I would ever start a business with.
