It's not advice at that point though - it's essentially brainstorming. I can't speak intelligently about if something is going to work for your startup or not because I have just heard about it 10 minutes ago. I can throw out random ideas and suggestions but in my experience that is much less valuable than sharing what has worked for Adzerk.
- stevesearer 13y agoThe basic idea I'm getting is that advice is meaningful and actionable when it comes from a place of domain expertise and prior experience. "You should allow people to log in using Twitter" doesn't mean as much from someone that doesn't have experience or knowledge of running a system that uses Twitter to log in. It might be a valuable idea, but it is an idea rather than advice.
