Penny wise and pound foolish, on the part of such companies...
- snprbob86 17y agoThere is a parallel to the "work expands to fill the schedule" thing. Our big company team recently moved to a brand new big building. No expense was spared. Lots and lots of conference rooms are available; a significant amount more per employee capita. However, the scarcity is only marginally less. People just start booking rooms for time slots or of sizes they don't really need.
- mahmud 17y agoIt's a nightmare for me to lug two laptops and for a meeting just to spend the whole time fighting with others over power outlets and waiting for the last person to get online. Lately, I do all my "meetings" on GoToMeeting or Skype, and reserve face to face meetings for the beer relay and bonding.
