According to my logic, a french owned company, established in the U.S. and making money on the U.S. market (so, from U.S. citizens) should pay U.S. taxes.
The problem is not the "citizen" part but the market or soil one.
The fact that I, as a french company, am able to sell products on the U.S. market is, in part, due to the fact that the U.S. as a country has a litterate workforce, infrastructures, a stable legal system, etc...
This costs money and tax is supposed to put some fairness in this. Otherwise, we would all be trying to make money in Afghanistan with a 0% tax on revenue.
