Why? Why wont you die FreeBSD?
- octo_t 13y agobecause diversity in operating systems is healthy? Not everyone subscribes to the 'GPL is best' mindset that permeates parts of the linux ecosystem?
- kchoudhu 13y agoWell, in its defense, it's not doing anyone any harm, and actually is a pretty awesome operating system (ZFS is, to put it mildly, delicious). The world would be much poorer if FreeBSD left this mortal coil.
- TallGuyShort 13y agoProbably because of silly things like a stable ZFS implementation, jails that are more mature and sophisticated than LXC, a licensing model that is more preferable to many businesses, and one of the best technical documents I've ever seen.
