- vacri 13y agoGive some context - Iran shares half of its borders with politically unstable countries, one of which has nuclear weapons. All of Germany's neighbours are extremely stable; they have better scope to look further afield for threats.
- kuschku 13y agoIt's the other way round. This was a survey where they asked thousands of germans, which country would be the most dangerous. And more people mentioned the US than Iran.
- vacri 13y agoYou misread me. Germans are safe from their immediate neighbours. Iranians are not. I'm not surprised that Iranians don't see the US as the most threatening thing around, especially given an unstable Pakistan with nuclear capabilities is right next door.
- thaumasiotes 13y agoYou misinterpreted the original comment. Read it as > even Germans consider [that] the US [is] a bigger threat than Iran [is]. not > even Germans consider the US [to be] a bigger threat than Iran [does]. Nobody's made any claims about what Iranians think.
- vacri 13y agoUgh, I did. mea culpa, sorry.
