Ask HN: Third-party reputation/trust platform for an online marketplace

Would an early-stage online marketplace/peer-to-peer service consider using a third-party reputation/trust platform? I have built a prototype (algorithm+APIs) that is based on my PhD research at Stanford, where I developed a mathematical model for quantifying trust between any two nodes (people) in a social network (i.e., not just those that are friends with each other).
