Why do you this? ;; these patterns allow a new frame to open for their matches (remove-hook 'same-window-regexps "\\*info\\*\\(\\|<[0-9]+>\\)") (remove-hook 'same-window-regexps "\\`\\*Customiz.*\\*\\'") It appears the default value for same-window-regexps is nil... Do you have a package installed that is adding those or something?
