Not sure about his case, but in my case I still keep my failed startup online (http://friendcameo.com/ http://friendcameo.com/) Mine failed in the sense that there's no way of growing or monetizing it in a way that's worth my time and effort. But at the same time, I can sometimes run experiments/surveys on it that allows me to learn and apply finding to other more successful ideas. I'm guessing Canvas is along the same lines.
