I always thought the main difference between buying and renting was tax, since mortgage payments are tax deductible.
- jrs235 13y agoMortgage payments are not tax deductible. Currently the interest is. Congress could change that. But as it stands now it is something one needs to consider in the cost comparison. (You might be paying $1000 to save $250)
