I simply asked whether people had trouble with this material because I don't remember it being an issue with any of my classmates in high school or in my 24 hours of undergraduate math. Saying "anyone who doesn't understand this is an idiot" would be condescending and dismissive, but I fail to see how asking an innocuous question is equivalent in your mind.
