I did the drinking thing a couple of times. Once when making a pitch to an investor I stopped at a bar first for a quick beer. It worked. The other time I had to present in my non-native language (French). Stopped in the hotel bar for a glass of wine. That worked two. I've always been told I am more articulate when tipsy. Of course when I am too tipsy I speak in a Scottish accent for some reason.
