So the most powerful tool for the open sharing of information since the advent of the printing press, that has transformed the way we live forever, will now be discarded because people are using computers in the form of handheld devices instead of Windows PCs? - waps 13y agoThe game is called "which is cheaper", and mobile wins.
- solnyshok 13y agodesktop is cheaper. for the price of one top smartphone, I can have a top notch desktop that would serve me for 5 years, which cannot be said about smartphones
- daniel-cussen 13y agoAre you saying that, for ~$600, you can have a top-notch PC? Really? Maybe if you're going for state-of-the-art of 2008. Although given the slowing progress in PC's, that could well serve you 5 years...
- solnyshok 13y agoTop notch smartphone is closer to 800$ in my book, and that gets me cpu ram and ssd. No top gpu of course, but I was thinking about my needs - browsing, media, webdev
- daniel-cussen 13y agoFair enough.
