Isn't the Python interpreter written in C?
- gamegoblin 13y agoThe CPython interpreter, aptly named, is written in C. There are other implementations written in Java, etc.
- Shish2k 13y agoStraightforward C is slow; straightforward python is medium speed; expertly written C (the foundations of python) is fast
- NAFV_P 13y ago> Straightforward C is slow; Would you care to elaborate? I typed "man straightforward" into terminal and nothing was thrown back at me.
- dded 13y ago> Straightforward C is slow; I've never found it to be so, and it's not a common complaint.
- GlitchMr 13y agoCitation needed. My C compiler can optimize even awful code very well.
- meowface 13y agoYes, but so are the interpreters and compilers of many other languages.

- NAFV_P 13y agoThanks for reminding me of that, I will have a look.
