I would actually argue that for each current faculty members job, there are <1 jobs, because many of these jobs will be cut completely by next generation.

I would actually argue that for each current faculty members job, there are <1 jobs, because many of these jobs will be cut completely by next generation.
- Fomite 13y agoHence the "at replacement" assumption. They usually also point out that even if the field is doubling in size, that only moves up the number to 2.
