There was a researcher from HP that did the same for "NP Hard" some years ago, that finished in the same place. He took a new angle, but ultimately, the proof didn't hold up. While it was disappointing in the end, the attempts are laudable. Here's hoping he got it, and if he didn't, that he at least manages to contribute a novel approach.
