From what I can tell (running the same unit you are), only the 2013 rMBPs will drive 4k panels. Would love to be wrong on that, though.

- phamilton 13y agoI've got an early 2013 rMBP with the NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M and it drives 4k at 30 Hz over HDMI.
- dustyleary 13y agoCan you reply with your Model Identifier? Click the Apple icon in the top left of the menu bar, choose "About This Mac", click "More Info", click "System Report", and on the first screen ("Hardware Overview"), the Model Identifier will be displayed. Mine is "MacBookPro10,1". I would love to verify that it is capable of driving these 4k displays, if you wouldn't mind checking.
- phamilton 13y agoMacBookPro10,1
- jmgrosen 13y agoHuh. Apparently that one's identical to Mid 2012 except for a tiny improvement in CPU, so that sounds promising. Thanks!
- shurcooL 13y agoThanks for confirming!
- FootballMuse 13y agoMy 2012 (MacBookPro10,1) works with Mavericks out of the box. I use SwitchRezX to get it up to 31Hz.
