- erikpukinskis 13y agoI don't disagree that Carmack was a huge win, but it's a little insulting to Palmer and the rest of the team to suggest that he's the reason for their progress. He's only been on the team for a few months. A lot of what they're doing has been in the works for a long time. Plus, all I've heard about what Carmack has been doing is that he was working on Android stuff in the beginning.
- cwyers 13y agoCarmack is a late add to the Occulus team, but he's been doing real work in reducing latency: http://www.altdevblogaday.com/2013/02/22/latency-mitigation-strategies/ http://www.altdevblogaday.com/2013/02/22/latency-mitigation-...
- benched 13y agoAnd for anyone who didn't know, Carmack has long been obsessively, arduously interested in latency problems.
- skeletonjelly 13y agoHave you tried it? It can stand on its own without Carmack.
