I have a 39in 4k monitor that I bought for $500. The only problem is that 4k monitors through HDMI can only run at 30Hz, which is extremely noticeable. There might be a way to run at 60Hz but I haven't got it to work yet. Here's the monitor: http://www.amazon.com/Seiki-Digital-SE39UY04-39-Inch-Ultra/dp/B00DOPGO2G http://www.amazon.com/Seiki-Digital-SE39UY04-39-Inch-Ultra/d...
- gojomo 13y agoCurious: what's the 30Hz effect? Flickering on a static desktop? Or just less-smooth animation?
- cloudwalking 13y agoJittery animation.
- jonah 13y agoEven DisplayPort 1.2 doesn't have enough bandwidth to push 60Hz. You're going to have to wait for a newer spec.
- barrkel 13y agoDisplayPort 1.2a does support these monitors AFAIK, through treating them as two panels daisy-chained together.
- will_work4tears 13y agoAh, I have this TV on my wishlist just for this use, I wasn't aware of the HDMI limitation. Is this an HDMI =< 1.4 issue and would it be better with HDMI 2.0?
