Ask HN: Do you recycle? (I recently moved to the US and...)

I recently moved to the US and one of the things that immediately stroke me was the difference in recycling culture compared to the Western Europe. I supposedly live in one of the most environmentally conscience parts of the US but we still have to throw away (landfill) a lot of plastics including plastic bags. One thing that I appreciate, though, is the extra bin for the compostable items that we didn't have in Europe as part of the trash collection service. So? Do you recycle?
