Trolls and abusive individuals exist whether you're a man or woman. The idea this is the next great civil rights issue seems to be more than a bit of an exaggeration to me.
Anecdotally, you'll usually see people going out of their way to defend woman on most public forums. On any public threads in Reddit where any guy expresses the tiniest hint of misogyny or creepiness to a woman, you'll have about 50 people shouting them down.
- hortfort 13y agoThe amount or nature of abuse is moot. The point is high-profile women on the Internet are affected by it disproportionately to men. It's not a error on their part to be affected by abuse - it's an error on your part to dismiss their concerns because you don't understand them.
