Couldn't agree more. I've been making a website pretty much just for personal use, that is kind of a timeline/personal journal. I write lots of random posts and thoughts and for every day, I write down a summary as well as record some basic statistics. The data aspect of it, and being able to look back at these things later is great, but the best part for me is that it forces me to actually sit down and write everyday
