I try and look at it this way when I feel that guilt: WHat would I think on my deathbed? Would working that one day really make any fucking difference when I'm about to go? 99% of the time it won't.

reminds me of an aphorism I quote from time to time "no one on their deathbed ever wishes they'd spent more time at work" :)

    Perhaps, but I suspect the regret is around where they focused their effort rather than how much of it.

    Do they, really? Unless it's "so world changing people will remember me long after I'm gone" kind of accomplishment, I doubt it.
