And delete key doesn't do it job: delete ... I constantly hit the delete key just to have Finder stay there doing nothing laughing haha at me. Take me 3 seconds to realize that i must use Cmd + Backspace to delete stuff. What is the delete key for then ?
- stilist 17y agoDoesn't it make more sense to require that little bit of verification that yes, you did mean to delete the file?
- anigbrowl 17y agoTo me, no. It's true that Apple's target customers don't pride themselves on their hardcore nerd skills, but an option to manage this behavior would be nice. It's exactly this sort of thing which makes me not want to own a Mac.
- lamnk 17y agoIf Apple want to verify whether users really want to delete files, then make a popup or dialogue or whatever prompting users to confirm. That would make a bad user experience, but at least i would understand the idea. Using two keys instead of one is not verification ! Anyway there is another protection layer: the recycle bin ...
- blasdel 17y agoDeleting text selections? Like in the rename mode triggered by hitting return? "open" is cmd-return (and cmd-down, cmd-up is "..") -- would you rather it had the windows behavior of opening every last thing in your selection from hitting enter on extra time when clearing a dialog? I get fucked by that at least once for every couple hours of Windows Explorer usage.
