What would be interesting is if one of those link bait psuedo tech publications decided to use the, um, Betteridge-esq headline and actually do that research which you suggest. Seems as if that would collect a bit of attention. And if the publication then issued a press release (if they actually did their own research and/or surveys) the mainstream press would pick up on it.
