Besides the obvious violation of individual rights, I worry about the enormous potential for abuse in these programs that could quickly turn our democracy into a dictatorship. Systems designed to identify terrorists could easily be used to identify political opposition and supress them once they've been labeled as "terrorists". The lack of due process, transparency and checks and balances here is concerning.
