the article does a terrible job with facts but I would have thought the carrier would be equipped with dosimeters for the crew?
Would it have been standard operating procedure for them to don the dosimeters given the understanding of the events unfolding in the area?

I can't say for sure how things are now, but back in the day the answers would have been Yes and Yes.
