Excellent points :) I always heard that the reason for undefined behaviour in C was to allow for certain operations to be implemented in a way that was faster for a given platform. Guess I was wrong. I do disagree regarding comparing the JVM to Quemu though. A PPC binary can't be said to be portable when you're emulating the CPU that it was meant to run on. I do understand the point you're making though, we just happen to disagree.
