The gaming world is a cesspit of maladjusted, comically aggressive, emotionally (and maybe actually) adolescent males who have a deep fear and distrust of women. The thing is, if you forget about the abusiveness towards women in online games (most people aren't even aware it happens), this is still the prevailing societal view of 'gamers.' Losers who don't get any girls. That's why many don't like to call themselves 'gamers,' or admit to a new group of people that video games are one of their hobbies.
