OS X has a pretty complete set ports tree from FreeBSD (http://www.macports.org/ http://www.macports.org/). I haven't found anything that didn't compile either from ports or from a tarball. You just need to know UNIX and not just Linux.
- greendestiny 17y agoIts more work to get things working from ports or compiling on OSX. My point isn't that somehow OSX is somehow fundamentally flawed - just that open source software works easier on Linux. Only because thats what the majority of open source is targeted at to be sure.
