I was once contacted to write a Haskell book about "Data Analysis". I said it was not really my field and asked for sample chapters of some Haskell book they had, if any. I received back an answer with how to proceed, just as if I had accepted to write the book for them, without any specific answer to what I told them. This didn't seem very encouraging and I didn't try to have additional information.
