Bitcoin is a fad and will have a similar fate to beanie-babies? It is over valued at the moment? Does the author really want to stake his reputation on the fact that cryptocurrencies are nothing more than 'an intellectual sinkhole?'

- Crito 13y agoReputations are rarely staked on predicting the future in tech. You need a rather precise balance of prestige, wrongness, and volume of other work to have your reputation damaged in any significant way by being wrong. Even cmdrtaco didn't really have his reputation trashed by "No wireless. Less space than a nomad. Lame."
