I appreciate the fact that the companies are focusing on this. However, its unclear to me why they didn't try any of this before Snowden leaked all this information? So if no one knew about it, these tech companies were OK sharing with the government?

- takeda64 13y agoThe reason why companies are caring at all about it is because this directly affects their income. Especially from foreign users.
- alan_cx 13y agoClassic government compartmentalization. No one out side the US gov had a clue how big the scheme was and how big or small their part was in it. Now they know. Not suspect, but know.
