First I'd like to say any criticism I can offer you is only in the spirit of helping you strengthen your product offering. With that said I don't really buy into your mobile premise. Quora is great on mobile, it's the only place I use it. I don't think having a simple, and mobile focused design is a competitive advantage, at this stage in the app economy it's a must. Maybe focusing on the element of short length, quick questions is a better idea. Because quora is definitely notorious of having essay sized questions/answers. Also is there any type of niche you want to focus on? Who is your main user persona other than someone who's curious?
