Ask HN: Trying to get a Dutch bitcoin hackathon off the ground

So I'm in the process of organizing a Dutch bitcoin hackathon. So far I'm doing this alone because I only came up with the idea yesterday, but I expect other people will jump in to help me as soon as I have something up (a website for example).
Right now I don't have anything. No prizes, no sponsors, no location, no website. But I feel this can be done easily when others will join. I have heard positive reactions.
Anyway, I never organized something this big. What do I need to know? Any good tips?
