You lost me a little with the analogy, but perhaps because my limited experience with business analysts has been that they are folks not technical enough for other jobs. This isn't how it should be, and it isn't universal, but based on my limited sample set, BAs tend to be folks who can write what someone else tells them, but they rarely contribute much more. (The ~10% who defy this description are worth their weight in gold, perhaps platinum)
