Javascript
- noblethrasher 17y agoSeconded. Although it's a functional language in the same way lisp is (i.e. it isn't).
- cema 17y agoJavascript is a great language (and widely misused, alas). However, calling it a functional language is a very big stretch (unlike lisp).
- troels 17y agoJavascript has a lot of Scheme legacy. I'd definitely call it a functional language.
- cema 17y agoJavascript can be used that way, and some of Javascript technologies suggest that, but it can and usually is used in the mainstream imperative way. People who have not been exposed to functional programming before touching Javascript (which is an overwhelming majority) may not even know about its functional capabilities.
