Has anyone found the root password for the kvm qcow2?
- kinneyd81 13y agoI had to boot from an .iso and mount up the filesystem to reset it. Also disabled selinux on reboot. If you find it out, please post, I'm curious myself.
- svennek 13y agoI mounted it (by the ways of qemu-nbd and so forth) and chrooted into it. It seems like there are no accounts with a valid password in it..
- hvs2 13y agoBased on https://access.redhat.com/site/solutions/641193 https://access.redhat.com/site/solutions/641193 the root account is disabled but sudo is granted to the uid 'cloud-user'. If a root password is required, the KB recommends using 'guestfish --rw -a <image>', mounting the filesystem, and running vi against /etc/shadow.
