  Using tor on a daily basis depend on how people surf the web. If you are one of those people who click on news article all day long, maybe read comments, then the added latency do not really do anything. You go to HN, open in new tabs all the interesting articles you want to read. By the time you reach the end of HN front page, the first page is loaded.
