  I didn't get that `sign` was not ever re-evaluated from the writeup, can you elaborate?

    The first downvote pushes the submission down below every positive submission ever, not just below the last 12 hours' worth. It can only recover if upvoted from other views.

      So, in the minimum case, two upvotes? Like any post? Seems there would have to be an appearance cutoff somewhere.
