I think the quality of the relationship is maintained to a large extent because of the separation. It reminds me a bit of the Mending Wall by Frost: 'Good fences make good neighbors'.

- pkroll 13y agoYeah, you might wanna take a read of that one again: the neighbor who wants to stop mending the fence, is making fun of the neighbor who won't stop repeating "good fences make good neighbors."
