- sien 13y agoIn Australia it's pretty close to 100% http://www.bitre.gov.au/publications/2011/files/is_040.pdf http://www.bitre.gov.au/publications/2011/files/is_040.pdf In much of Europe it's higher. In the US it's lower.
- jpatokal 13y agoAccomplished mostly by fuel taxes of $0.38/liter, or approx $1.5/gallon. This is not far off 10x higher than the (ridiculously low) US rate of $0.18/gallon.
- alayne 13y agoYou're not counting local taxes. Gas taxes are about 50 cents a gallon.
- malandrew 13y agoDoes that include all indirect costs as well? For example, does it cover the taxpayer cost of buying and maintaining fleets such as police cars and heavy equipment?
