The personal licenses (at least) have migrated to a subscription model. I bought RubyMine last Dec as part of their end of the world sale and can upgrade until April 12th.
- TylerE 13y agoReally? Am I not looking in the right place? I bought during the sale and they want $99 from me. Of course, I bought the full-blown IDEA, and not one of the derivatives.
- jasonlotito 13y agoIntelliJ IDEA is normally $199. The upgrade subscription fee is $99 a year. It's been this way for a long time now, and hasn't changed.
- krisdol 13y agoI believe that is the price if you've previously had a license that is now expired or about to expire. If a new version is released within the year of your subscription, you can upgrade for free. The price is lower for upgrades so that you don't re-pay the full cost of the product every year.
- tuananh 13y agoweird huh!? I asked them on Twitter regarding IntelliJ IDEA 13 and I got this[1] > Upgrade is free personal licenses bought after October, 30, 2013. [1]: https://twitter.com/andrey_cheptsov/status/398103017976639488 https://twitter.com/andrey_cheptsov/status/39810301797663948...
- TylerE 13y agoYes, that's exactly what I'm running into also.
