Worlds (sic.) number 1 online newspaper? Riight. http://www.mailwatch.co.uk/ http://www.mailwatch.co.uk/
- nailer 13y agoThey're not claiming to be the most ethical or nice paper, just number one in terms of readership. Which, like it or not, they are.
- nodata 13y agoThe world's number one newspaper in terms of readership? Show me the numbers!
- alan_cx 13y agoNot the newspaper its self, but online, it apparently is, sickeningly. Dunno where we get the numbers, but perhaps you do and can knock the claim down. A nation might thank you for doing so.
- Cederfjard 13y agoIn case you're still interested in dead-tree newspaper readership, Daily Mail is #12 internationally: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_newspapers_in_the_world_by_circulation http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_newspapers_in_the_world... Edit: Saw now that the list above doesn't show numbers for the last couple of years, but in the UK The Sun is still ahead as of January this year: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_newspapers_in_the_United_Kingdom_by_circulation http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_newspapers_in_the_Unite...
- nailer 13y ago"Mail Online close to 100m users" "Associated Newspapers network remains world's most popular newspaper website with more than 99m monthly browsers" This is published by the Guardian, the Mail's left wing equivalent. http://www.theguardian.com/media/2012/feb/23/mail-online-close-to-100m-users http://www.theguardian.com/media/2012/feb/23/mail-online-clo...
- nodata 13y agothe Guardian, the Mail's left wing equivalent Ouch!
- babuskov 13y agoI expected that some Chinese, Indian and US news sites would have way more readers. It seems hard to get any hard data on this. The original article says: "Every month they service over 150 million unique visitors" This article from Forbes(2011) claims that The New York Times is the leader, followed by Times of India. http://www.forbes.com/sites/kenrapoza/2011/09/05/tech-savvy-richer-india-turns-daily-news-sites-into-world-leaders/ http://www.forbes.com/sites/kenrapoza/2011/09/05/tech-savvy-... The article was based on Alexa ranking, which have changed since: http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/dailymail.co.uk http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/dailymail.co.uk http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/nytimes.com http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/nytimes.com http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/china.com.cn http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/china.com.cn I guess they are using Alexa rankings to support those claims. EDIT: If we use Alexa, the Huffington Post ranks above: http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/huffingtonpost.com http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/huffingtonpost.com
