- CodeMage 13y agoYes, consoles are plug and play, but they're not backwards compatible. There are several PS2 games I love, that will never be remade for PS3 or PS4. Meanwhile, I can still play "Crusader: No Remorse" or "The Longest Journey" on my PC.
- Groxx 13y agofwiw most emulators now are pretty "plug 'n play". No settings to fiddle, rarely even controller button assignments, and the number of bugs continually shrinks. You can fiddle, and get 1080p out of your N64 emulator, but that's usually not required, in at least the past few years. Further back (possibly significantly) yeah, they were pretty awful for everyday users.
