This is a basic application of the ideas in the first week of a microeconomics 101 course. Maybe I'm being an arrogant dick, but if you don't already intuitively get this stuff, you really should not get involved in any kind of business that depends for its success on adwords, A/B testing, customer segmentation, and so on.
