This is a tad off-topic but: I'd argue that a large proportion of scientists and mathematicians don't want to waste time trying to achieve Victor's goals. We have jargon for a reason - it allows experts to communicate effectively and efficiently. Scientists don't want to waste time or space unpacking what should be patently clear to another scientist. Now science education, that's different.
